Animal Dental Clinic
Animal Dental Clinic operates from our purpose-built Murdoch clinic every Friday, providing veterinary dentistry and oral surgery services for dogs and cats.
Led by Dr Michael Lawley and Dr Fleur, Animal Dental Clinic provides dedicated dental care with the support of an experienced veterinary nursing team and specialist veterinary anaesthesia.
Animal Dental Clinic and Animal Dermatology Clinic are separate veterinary services that work from the same Murdoch facility, bringing specialised veterinary care together in a modern, purpose-built environment.
Meet the Animal Dental Clinic team
Dr Michael Lawley
Dr Michael Lawley has extensive experience and a special interest in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. He is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery.
Mike graduated from Murdoch University in 1987 and has extensive veterinary experience in both Australia and the United Kingdom.
Alongside his clinical work, Mike has a longstanding involvement in veterinary education. He teaches veterinary dentistry at Murdoch University's School of Veterinary Medicine, including lectures, practical classes and clinical teaching for veterinary students.
Mike is also an examiner for the Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and regularly conducts veterinary dentistry workshops around Australia.
Dr Fleur Deguara
Dr Fleur Deguara works alongside Mike at Animal Dental Clinic, providing advanced dental and oral care for dogs and cats.
Fleur has achieved Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Small Animal Dentistry and Oral Surgery. This postgraduate qualification recognises her advanced knowledge and experience in the field and reflects her ongoing commitment to veterinary dentistry and oral surgery.
With a strong focus on thorough assessment, careful treatment planning and patient comfort, Fleur works with the Animal Dental Clinic team to manage a range of dental and oral conditions.
Together, Mike and Fleur bring extensive knowledge and a dedicated focus on veterinary dentistry to each patient, developing treatment plans based on the individual animal's dental health, medical history and clinical needs.
Specialist anaesthesia with Dr Gabby
Animal Dental Clinic is supported by Dr Gabby, a Board-certified veterinary anaesthetist, for patients undergoing dental and oral surgery procedures.
General anaesthesia is required for comprehensive veterinary dental procedures, and careful anaesthetic planning, monitoring and pain management are important parts of patient care.
Having specialist anaesthesia expertise available can be particularly valuable for patients with more complex anaesthetic requirements, including senior pets and animals with concurrent health conditions.
Each patient is assessed individually, with an anaesthetic plan tailored to their health, procedure and specific needs.
Veterinary dentistry at Murdoch
Animal Dental Clinic consults and performs dental procedures from Animal Dermatology Clinic's purpose-built Murdoch facility every Friday.
While Animal Dental Clinic and Animal Dermatology Clinic are separate veterinary services, both teams share a commitment to high-quality veterinary care, patient comfort and a positive experience for pets and their families.
